(or: How I Learned to Love the Trashless Instance)

I’ll admit, when the concept was first foisted upon us—the trashless instance that a player could complete up to 4 times a week—I was less than thrilled at the prospect of it being the next stepping stone on the way to Icecrown. The concept seemed too simple, too easy, and the first normal-mode clear almost had me believing that it would be a walk in the park. Since then, I’ve revised my opinion, and although I’m still not thrilled about the repetitive nature of the encounters, I do think the hard modes provide a good challenge to healers, and specifically to shaman.

The following guide is intended to do two things: first, to reinforce what you may already know, and second, to provide some supplemental information that might give you an additional edge. I’m a huge fan of PowerAuras so some of my suggestions will deal with adding specific events to your conditional library. Also, I’m a firm believer in the power and magic of Grid, so some suggestions might not be applicable if you run with Healbot, VuhDo, or another set of unit frames.

Rather than have you sift through one long page of strats, I’ve broken the guide into separate pages for each boss. Each page will have 4 discussion points–healing setup, raid positioning, resto shaman tips, and any additional bonus information. So, Enjoy!
